Your life, your choice

Hello Beautiful people

Happy Easter Saturday! In the spirit of Easter, a friend of mine and I sat down to discuss how important Jesus Christ's death was and how important His resurrection is to us. You see, you don't have to have a relationship with him right now to believe that he died for you. Its in believing that we receive him and once you receive him, the relationship with him starts from there.

There is so much of life that we experience which has implications on our lives and our  choices. I have met people that were sexually abused and have chosen a life that is full of fear in connecting with other people. Our circumstances are very different, the choices we make in those circumstances sets course for how we respond to the rest of life. Its really hard to be positive when you have been handed negativity. Its hard to heal when you keep breaking. Its hard to be strong when you're feeding on weakness. We have no control over what happens to us but we do have control over how we respond.

When you examine your life today, how much of how you're living is in response to prevent something that happened years ago to you from happening again? Maybe you were bullied in school for being overweight so you respond by losing the weight and dressing in revealing clothes to show your body. To make a statement, to say what you couldn't back then but deep down you're still scared. Whatever your cause of pain may have been, you don't have to live your life from that perspective.

It takes a lot of courage to make the decision to change the course of your life. It takes a lot of sacrifice too. Speaking of sacrifice, it took a lot of love for you and me for Jesus to get himself crucified on that cross. It must have hurt His father to see His only son become sin and die in order for you and me to gain life. The life we sometimes take for granted. You see, Jesus was beaten, nailed to a cross to save your life. I know you think you don't deserve it because you're too messed up. The beauty with Jesus is, it's not about deserve, its about love. Everyday you wake up is a gift, not because you deserve it, because God just gives it.

You don't have to live your present life with your heart in the past. You don't have to live in fear, you don't have to be miserable, you don't have to live from a place of pain. You can be healed, you can let go of it all, you can let Jesus save you, you get to decide where you want to spend the rest of eternity. You're one decision away from a totally different life.

You matter, Say it

Hello Beautiful people

This is just something to remind you that you matter. We all have lives, we all have something we're dreaming of, something we're working towards, something that we want to tell the world. If we didn't, none of the things we see would exist. Somewhere deep down inside we all want to make the world a better place or atleast we want to be in a world that is livable. We have families, work, health, relationships, religion and self to keep as busy. We have full plates and sometimes it seems 24 hours isn't a lot of time to fit everything in but we have to make it work.

In the busyness of life, it is easy to get burried in mandane routines that leave us feeling dead inside and empty. Its easy to get caught up in a whirlwind and forget how we ended up in the place we're in right now. Here's the thing, you and i only have a few hours to live on this earth. In these few hours, how much of it do you spend doing what you really love? Saying what's on your mind? Laughing as much as you complain? How much of this life have you actually lived?

We don't know when we die, we don't know what happens in the next hour, we can plan for it but we have no control over how it actually unfolds. Therefore, say what you have to say. I don't mean shouting at that person you've been holding a grudge for 15 years or 5 years, i mean, speak your dreams. Live your life with a voice, let your life do the talking. Your voice, your dreams, your ideas, your creativity is needed so don't hide in the shadows and wish away the hours hiding behind a desk when you know you can be speaking for the voiceless. You matter, what you have to say matters, don't stay quiet anymore, its time to clear your throat and let your voice be heard.

Gone are the days of self pity, get your act together and start afresh. Sure life sometimes throws lemons in our face and the lemonade we make out of those lemons is a little bitter but that should keep us going. You don't have to be afraid or ashamed of your story, you don't have to be timid. You are a wonderful human being. If you don't like somethings about yourself, change them, better yourself. Think of yourself as an investment, increase your value everyday and at the end of the day, the world will be surely glad you graced it with your presence.
