Price of Beauty

It takes her a minute or five to be a able to fit into a specific pants size 

Hours spent popping pimples 

Extra cash spent to iron out all the wrinkles 

She feels old 

Old in her young skin, she feels like a broken cord 

She’s crooked in her mold 

Men with 20/20 vision call her pretty

Men who seem to know what real beauty is call her beautiful 

She’s a glass half full 

She’s almost at the brink of perfection but quite able to convince her mind on her selection 

Indecisive mind 

One of a kind 

Traits of a pretty girl 

Bulimic, cutter, normally frail 

Trying to keep up with the standards of this world 

Popping pills, always on a bottle, suicide an option when all else fails 

Seeking an expensive lifestyle, never pushing to be great 

Comfortable with a slightly above comfortable state 

Having a rich man, with a nice car, good job, pays the bills, pays for the hair, only asks for one thing

Selling her pride for a few nights in between the sheets and waking up sore, regular is such a bore 

She gets the things of the world but pays with her body 

Behind closed doors, let's play mummy and daddy 

When she gets home, draws the curtains, mirror mirror on the wall “I have everything, why then do I feel so alone?" 

"Life's a party, let's all get stoned!" 

Watching life pass her by, missing out on its simplicity 

Mind wars, never relived 

Losing her reputation, her dignity 

Uncomfortable in her skin, losing sleep 

Heavy laden, always packing underneath her eyes 

Tongue twisted, always tells lies 

Road trip down memory lane, guilt tripped down to her knees 

Listened to a couple of lectures but none of them are actually received 

Knowing right from wrong but wishing there was something in between 

All too familiar with the middle 

A trail of men all tattooed with wealth follow her like a fleet 

She wants out but giving up the cars, the money, the perfect life is not on her agenda 

The vacations, sweet spots marked on her calendar 

5 star hotels, rooms scented with lavender

It’s all too fun to give it all up 

5 decade old wines, rarely drinks pop 

Traded in her dignity, for her virginity 

Seems Impossible to take back what she's already lost 

Her real friends, her family and all the people that matter the most 

Her shadow has left her, her errors haunt her like a ghost 

Her life depicts all the things a girl should never do

She got herself in this mess and now it’s hard to leave

Thinking of the price she’s had to pay for that expensive weave

You would not believe

She’s reached the end of the road

A couple of bad seeds she’s sowed

Party every weekend, yolo!

Awakening moment, her life is borrowed

Importance of Inner Beauty

How was your week? Not too crazy i hope. Last week , the topic of inner beauty was introduced and today we'll be expanding on it. We'll be talking about the importance of inner beauty. When I think of the importance of inner beauty, three things come to mind; inner beauty creates connections, gives a name to what you do to your outer body and it introduces us to you as you are.

One of the most important reasons for realizing your inner beauty is that, it creates connection. The most important connection and relationship you can have is one with God. Why? Because God made you, and he longs for you to have a relationship with him as your father and as your creator. You see, this relationship is so important because God can reveal to us  who we really are and who he intended us to be. Many of us struggle with who we are and what we are supposed to be doing and as a woman, it can be quite daunting and can lead to making wrong decisions. Also, this connection with God can help us relate to others without fear of feeling like a bother or fear of saying the wrong the things.

Secondly, inner beauty will give you a realization of why you do what you do to your outer body. Is it to seek attention? Is it to express yourself? Is it to hide? Why do you dress the way you do? Why do you wear make up? Its important to give reasons as to why you do what you do. The importance of inner beauty in this area should get you to a place where you are confident in your own skin and don't need confirmation from someone else. You have to be happy with yourself, you have to ignite the beauty that's on the inside that way it can shine through on the outside with ease.

Lastly, I would love to meet you, the real you if you'll let me :) God made you and I so beautiful and with a sense of adventure within us. As a woman, the way we feel things, the way we see things, the way we experience things is different from men and that's okay. We were created to do what men couldn't. Accepting this, celebrating God each moment for creating you the way you are will bring about a confidence that will be unshakable! No one will be able to bring the belief about your beauty to doubt because you'll know that what you consider as imperfections, just adds to your beauty. You will be okay with walking in the streets and introducing yourself to the people out in the world. Wouldn't you love to share your gifts, talents with the world without fear of being judged?

Let your inner beauty shine and don't be afraid to be you. Develop a relationship with God that will help you discover your inner beauty and help you discover who you were meant to be.

Beauty Renewed

How's everyone doing today? Well, i have an announcement to make, the blog has got a new name!!!! again!!! lol yes, this is the third time am changing the name of this blog but just so you know, this is the last time its happening :)

Why the change of name again?
Well, in my country alone, there is a  real struggle with what true beauty really is about. The biggest issue young women are having right now, is what it means to be beautiful. Truth be told, make up is on a rise and so is fashion. Many girls are being made to believe that these two are a need and without them, you don't fit in. It breaks my heart when i see young girls wearing enough make up for the whole year and some can't even leave the house without it. Seeing this has caused my heart to go out to them and thats the reason for the name change. To give lessons on what beauty is, what it really is. Its more than clothes, make up, hair and all the materialistic stuff. Beauty starts on the inside and no matter how much make up you put on, which brand of clothes, shoes you were to make the outside look pretty, if the inside is not taken care of, your efforts are in vein. Beauty renewed is constant, it doesn't stop at telling yourself you're beautiful everyday, its about believing it, its about renewing your beauty daily. We forget that we are beautiful and that leads us to taking unnecessary steps to make ourselves believe it or feel it. Beauty renewed is about renewing your beauty on the inside so that it shines through on the outside.

Its just a summary of which direction this page is taking and i hope you and i learn something from each other as we start this journey.

Who do you please?

Today will be asking a very important question, a question that pertains to why we do what we do, say what we say , act the way we act. Who do you please?

Life nowadays is tough, no two ways about it. Its tough in that, there's very stif competition and the fact that life is so fast paced and advancing so quickly, it's very easy to get caught up in the whirl wind of it all. Todays question is very important because it makes us face our selves. For example, in Zambia right now it seems most of us are trying to keep up with the fashion trends, for both men and women. Trends that pertain to make up, hair, clothes, even attitude is a trend. Now, most women are willing to lower there standards so as to acquire these material possessions. Willing to sleep with older men so as to have enough money to buy clothes. A lot is behind this but I won't get into that right now. Why do you sleep around? Why do you steal? Why do you sacrifice needs for wants?

If you notice, most people today have a split personality, they are two people. When you meet her at home, she's free, happy, relaxed and speaks normally. Meet her in town, she either hardly speaks, because she believes a few words are all she needs to draw you in, or she talks wayyyy too much to fit in and create a reputation. We change who we are to attract a particular crowd or to try and fit in to a particular crowd. Its funny how we do so much, say what we don't mean, wear what we're uncomfortable in, all in hopes of fitting in. Why do we go through so much trouble? The answer is simple, because we want to please man. We want to feel like we belong to something important, as though to say 'I matter.'

Man can never be pleased. He will be satisfied with something for a while but eventually, he will raise the standards and you will be the one person to suffer. You'll be working twice as hard to please him/her which will cost you even more than you are currently paying. It will take up double of your time too.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if you can't afford the high end branded clothing, male up, hair. It doesn't make you less of a person if you don't have them. For those that can afford, well an good. There shouldn't be the unnecessary pressure to acquire these things, your time will come. Keep in mind that short cuts cost a lot. How much are you willing to pay to please your fellow man? How much are you willing to sacrifice? To give? Will you live with yourself afterwards?

Why can't we please God? God doesn't ask for much from us. All he asks is that you go as you are and accept his son Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal saviour, accept his word and spend time with him, not much to ask for right? He wants to show us his love, his mercy, pour out his grace. He is one to go to great lengths to save our lives. Jesus lost his life so we could gain ours for eternity. All the questions you might have about life, he has and he won't give you more than you can handle. Who do you please?
